Oh my God - This is a strong emotional expression. With the phrase Oh, God, they express strong emotions: surprise, fear, joy. Often, when listening to English-language podcasts, British stand-up comedy or films in the language, I notice how many expressions they find to replace the banal Oh My when they want to express surprise, fear or disappointment.
